£1,050.00 Sold Out
Where: Tisbury, Wiltshire, England
When: 30th of June - 1st of July 2018
10m on the 30th to 9pm on the 1st of July
What: Scandinavian Baking and Photography
Over the course of two days, we’ll be baking and cooking over open fire and with a lovely old traditional oven. Kneading dough that becomes the most delicious cardamom treats, stir silky smooth egg custard over a simmering water before spreading it on warm buns fresh out of the oven.
Well explore both sweet and savoury, simple everyday treats, and more elaborate celebratory desserts.
Scandinavian baking is all about simplicity, with lots of cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, and almonds, yes, almonds. The gorgeously tasty feast of a cake called "Kransekake" made up my rings of perfectly moist and crunchy baked almond paste, becomes quite the show stopper at any afternoon tea party.
Rye bread is a traditional centerpiece in any Scandinavian home and with so many tasty variations I’ll be sharing my top two favorites.
You’ll be learning to bake both sweet and savory treats all rooted in the Scandinavian kitchen, enjoyed over freshly brewed tea in the English countryside.
Over the course of two these days we’ll have summer picnics under my favorite tree, baking and photography sessions, leisurely long lunches with all the traditional trimmings of the north, and rustic English pub dinners at night.
We´ll enjoy nightcaps around a slow burning fireplace, traditional evening treats before parting our ways for the night.
