One of my favorite seasons is winter in the english countryside.
Where it's still lush and green after the trees have shed their leaves.
Wonky thatched cottages across the countryside send up heartwarming smoke signals from their chimneys, letting me know the fire is roaring and the kettle is on just in time for afternoon tea, a ritual I rarely miss.
A gentle frost covers the rolling hills in the wee hours of the morning giving off an ever so comforting crunch with each step I make on my wanders before breakfast.
Rustic stews are bubbling away on the stove, my english pointer Mr Whiskey is sleeping near to the wood burner, and bread is rising in the cupboard underneath the stairs.
These are my winter days in England, and I'd love to share it with you in a bespoke retreat in a charming cottage, plenty of tea, mulled wine, roasts, cake baking, prop shopping at my favorite antique shops, and of course food styling and photography, tailored to your very needs and wants.
We'll be exploring the surrounding woods creating winter picnics as we style and photograph a wee storybook that by the time you depart will be filled with recipes, food images, little stories and the ever charming visual story of the English countryside in winter.
We' ll gather in the afternoon around the fireplace for tea and lead discussions on how to build a brand, become a professional food photographer, how to tell visual stories for your blog or a magazine spread, and how to translate it all to instagram or a portfolio.
These afternoon discussions will be tailored to exactly the questions you have, and will be accompanied by the cracklings sound of wood burning in the distance, laughter and cake, and quite possible Mr Whiskey (my dog) snuggled up by your feet.
We'll also sneak in a sketching session in a walled garden with a local artis, leaving the art of quickly sketching up a lovely scene to capture your travels that we'll make into postcards you can take with you .
This is non refundable retreat, but we´d be happy to book you in on another retreat we´re hosting should you fall ill or not be able to make it.
Feel free to email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org should you have any further questions.
